Public Beta of Cortana for Android is Here

Public Beta of Cortana for Android is now Live

You need to be in the United States to become its beta tester.

Earlier this year, Microsoft had announced its plan to bring the Windows-exclusive intelligent personal assistant Cortana to Android and iOS. After two months of wait, the public beta of Cortana app for Android is finally here.

Beta version for public is currently limited to United States only, but the company is planning to offer it in other countries as well.

The Android version of Cortana comes packed with a lot of features. Microsoft explains, “The Cortana app can do most of the things Cortana does on your PC or on a Windows phone. With the app, you can manage your hectic lifestyle by setting and getting reminders, searching the web on-the-go, tracking important information such as flight details as well as starting and completing tasks across all of your devices.”

There are, however, some limitations. It cannot open apps and also doesn’t respond to “Hey Cortana” at the moment. These and other remaining features will hopefully be added in future updates.
