Apple finally lifted the curtains off iPhone 7 a couple of weeks ago. Hardly surprisingly, its reveal was met with mostly negative response. Even the most dedicated fans of Apple products are vowing to skip the newest iteration because of unnecessary and unimpressive changes that it features. You may have been an Apple loyalist in the past, but this time around, you would be better off by not buying an iPhone 7 due to issues that you may find hard to ignore. If you are not convinced, then read on.
iPhone 7 Ditches Headphone Jack
Apple has been known for innovation, but removing 3.5mm headphone jack is no innovation in any sense of the word. It is one of the basic needs and the tech giant has removed it.
Now if you want to listen to music, you have to pay for AirPods, which are wireless earphones that can be lost rather easily. You can just drop them anywhere and then you will have to buy new ones because they are one of a kind and are only available at Apple Store. No 3.5mm headphone jack is a good enough reason to back out of this year’s purchase, but if you are still searching for more reasons, then continue to the next problem with iPhone 7.
iPhone 7 Features Familiar Charging Problem
The change that people actually wanted was the better charge rate for iPhones. However, Apple clearly doesn’t think of it as a priority.
No improvements have been made as far as the charging problems are concerned and thus they still persist. It still takes hours upon hours to get your iPhone fully charged and it barely lasts a day even if you do nothing on it.
iPhone 7 Display is a Disappointment
We live in a world where 2K, HDR, and 4K have become a norm, but not for Apple. They are still sticking with full HD 1080p display for iPhone 7.
With Samsung offering 4K, 2K, and HDR, people were expecting Apple to enhance its display as well, but sadly, they haven’t improved here as well.
Apple has always been regarded as a money grabber, but now they have taken it a step further. Instead of giving us a headphone jack, they are offering adapters that would allow you to plug in the headphones. These adapters are obviously going to cost you and the best part is you cannot charge your phone when you are listening to something using these adapters.
iPhone 7 AirPods Unnecessary and Unimpressive
AirPods aren’t too heavenly either. First of all, their audio is pathetic, and secondly, they also seem to be part of a money-making schemes. You can lose them rather easily and then you have to buy a new one. To avoid that, however, Apple has introduced small containers where you can put them for safe keeping. A bunch of people would buy these containers thinking that it will keep their AirPods safe, but that isn’t going to happen. You don’t lose your headphones when you carefully place them. You lose them when you are listening to music and just take them off. To make things even more interesting, Apple has introduced a wire for its “wireless” AirPods. If you don’t like the wireless stuff, then put a wire on it to keep it safe.
Are you seeing what Apple is doing here? Instead of including a 3.5mm headphone jack, which doesn’t contribute much to its profit, the tech giant is offering multiple peripherals so you can run 3.5mm headphone jack. This way, you will keep on giving them the money and that is what they actually want. Save yourself and people around the world from such greediness by avoiding iPhone 7 altogether.
