The developers behind the apps and the users of Apple TV are pretty angry about lack of discovery options on the platform.
Apple TV App Store has been opened up to third-party developers and with that, a large number of apps have made their way to the platform. Unsurprisingly, most of these apps are somewhat related to games and video streaming.
As good as this sounds, there’s one problem – there are no category listings or top charts section in the store which makes it really difficult for the users to find what they’re looking for, hence ruining their experience. The developers who worked day in and day out to ensure that their apps would be ready on launch day aren’t too happy about the lack of discovery system either.
After hearing a lot of criticism, Apple had to come up with a statement and it did. The tech giant has assured that that the discovery options are still in works and will make their way to the App Store sooner rather than later.
There’s another thing that might not sit well with the consumers – the price for the apps. Most of the apps present on the Apple TV App Store are pretty expensive as they’re priced around $5 to $10. On the other hand, phones and tablets marketplace usually offers a large number of apps for less than $1.
