Best Internet Memes of 2015

2015 was quite an eventful year. ISIS, terrorist attacks, Donald Trump, presidential candidates, movies, TV shows, and celebrities – all of these entities got so popular that the world decided to turn them into memes. In case you didn’t get enough time to stay updated on what was making a buzz on the internet, we’ve compiled a list of the best internet memes of 2015. Be sure to check them out.

Netflix and Chill

This term has been around since 2007. Previously, it simply meant to stream the content available on Netflix and just chill out. However, teenagers have given this word a whole new meaning in 2015 as the term is now being used to hook up with each other. Endless memes regarding Netflix and Chill were made last year, and the way things are going, this term is not going away anytime soon.

The Dress

One dress became an overnight sensation on the internet because it was showing two different shades in the same picture. To some people, the dress seemed like it was blue and black, while others thought it was golden and white. This dress became a hot topic of discussion and was the biggest thing being discussed on TV and social networks. Unsurprisingly, the picture of the dress became a meme and was used extensively on different platforms. The dress became such a phenomenon that a lot of people even wore it on Halloween.

Joker Reveal

Heath Ledgers played the joker back in 2008. The role was acted so phenomenally that expectations from the next joker were through the roof. People were hoping to see a slightly different joker from what they saw in The Dark Knight, but when the first image of Jared Leto as joker hit the web, everybody was thinking the same thing “what the hell happened to joker?”. That particular picture got a lot of hate and became a victim of endless memes.

Fallout 4

Gamers had been waiting for Fallout 4 announcement since the day Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. However, the wait just kept on going until finally developers decided to lift the curtains off Fallout 4. The announcement was met with a huge roar and the people sitting in the audience were jubilant. Memes regarding this reveal started to roll out as soon as the announcement was made, and they haven’t stopped since. Initially, people were sharing memes of what they thought Fallout 4 would be, and since the game’s launch, they are sharing memes regarding their experience. Considering the amount of fan-base this game has garnered in such a short period of time, don’t expect these memes to go away anytime soon either.

Donald Trump

If you turned your TV on last year or went on the internet, then you must have heard about stuff Mr. Donald Trump has been saying. Most of the stuff he says gets turned into a meme which, if you have heard him, isn’t that much of a surprise. He’s a presidential front-runner for the Republicans and with the elections to take place in the second half of this year, you can expect a ton of more memes about him. Because whenever Trump speaks, he practically gives out ideas for new memes.
