Best VR Camera Gadgets You Can Get Your Hands on Right Now

Virtual reality (VR) has had a shaky past but its present is looking spectacular as more and more manufacturers are trying to come up with their own version of it. Samsung Gear VR was a really step, as it didn’t push people to spend too much, but still provide a decent VR experience. Oculus Rift VR and HTC Vive have been great for PC gamers as they have allowed them to play multiple video games and even watch movies in VR. VR camera for PS4 called PSVR is also a fantastic addition to the market and Sony is releasing a bunch of new games for it on regular basis. Resident Evil 7 was one of the biggest releases of 2017 and with the added ability of playing it in the VR made it all more special. The game felt genuinely scary when played in VR, and we’re hoping that other developers will soon follow suit. VR had a hard time getting established as people weren’t sure if it would be of any use to them at all. However, with continued support and with new games coming out for it every now and then, more and more people have started to invest in the product, and following are the best VR camera gadgets that you can get your hands on right now, and join in on the action.

PlayStation VR headset is amazing and we say that due to numerous reasons. First one being that it is cheaper than most of the VR gadgets available in the market – secondly, it doesn’t require a high-end computer to work. If you own a PS4, all you have to do is get the PSVR and it will be compatible with the console. VR headset comes with a few games and some game trials as well, so you can easily test it out.

As mentioned above, one of the best horror game to come out in a long while, Resident Evil 7 was playable through PSVR through and through and that made it a remarkable experience for the fans. It is one thing to play the game in the comfort of your home. However, when you are using VR, you become the protagonist and you see everything up close and personal. Even the anticipated jump scares can be fearsome in these instances. Sony is not stopping here however, they are going to be improving the overall experience by releasing new games for their VR camera. New games are in the pipeline and will soon grace the PS4 console. So, if you are looking for the very best games on the VR, then PSVR is your best option.

HTC Vive

HTC Vive comes with a base stations and a couple of motion controllers, both of which are used using the VR. Just like PSVR, this one is also used for gaming, but the library of titles is not as versatile or engaging as the PlayStation. There are a few small games that can be played on HTC Vive and if PC is your gaming station, then this is an amazing VR headset to have at your disposal. Not only is it cheaper than its counterpart Oculus Rift, it also functions faster, and its controllers are far easier to use. The ease of use and user friendliness is the key part of VR devices because not a lot of people are aware of how it is actually used. Everything being simplified in this case helps a lot.

The wiring is an issue though as you will have to connect a lot of things, which might get annoying and cumbersome for some people. However, that’s the price you have to pay in order to make use of VR. As mentioned above, the software available for HTC Vive is lacking and there are barely any decent games available for it. However, if you are a diehard PC gamer who wants to enjoy VR offerings, then HTC Vive is definitely the way to go.

Oculus Rift VR

Oculus Rift VR was the first big VR camera to hit the market. It had all the hype surrounding it but it failed to leave its mark due to several reasons. The biggest one being its overly expensive price point –not everyone was willing to spend their hard-earned cash on an untested product, which is why it lost steam real quick. Another huge flaw was the lack of base stations and the controllers at launch. People had to buy the Rift VR console for a huge price, and then they had to purchase the controllers individually. This turned a lot of people off and the product, which was set to be a success, soon became forgotten.

Oculus wasn’t doing all that well in the software department either and the main reason behind it was its lack of sales. However, things are getting better for Oculus Rift since Facebook acquired it. Now, it has its own controllers, which really should’ve been there from the beginning, but better late than never. When acquiring the VR headset, Facebook assured that it will support with extensive software support. We haven’t seen anything substantial since then, but seeing as how big of a deal Facebook is, money really isn’t an issue for them and if they want, they can create a large number of exclusive Oculus Rift titles and that would really spice things up for the long forgotten machine. However, until that happens, your best bet is to go for HTC Vice just because of how easy it is to use.

If you are just looking to test things out, then it is even easier, you can check out Samsung Gear VR, which isn’t an expensive VR camera, but provides you with the somewhat similar result. It does not replicate what PSVR or HTC Vive or Oculus Rift can do, but it is a good place to just get the taste of VR. Virtual Reality is said to be the future of gaming but we haven’t seen it become as big of a deal as it we imagined. However, things are improving as more and more manufacturers keep investing in it, and we may soon see a VR only console.
