Facebook never keeps surprising its users with the addition of new features every now and then. The reason why this social media giant is so popular among users is because it offers a lot of diversity in terms of communication, entertainment, and advertising.
Facebook videos have gained more popularity than any other media. People tend to view the video more instead of pictures or text statuses. The videos on Facebook have become even famous than those of YouTube.
Recently, Facebook introduced a new feature to its videos – it added an autoplay video feature that automatically plays the video when you are scrolling your news feed or timeline. We all love watching videos on Facebook but this autoplay video feature can sometimes be so annoying. Especially when you’re at scrolling down your feed at work and the sound automatically plays behind a video, at that moment, you can be quite embarrassed and also get caught using Facebook at work. So, to get away from this problem, follow our step by step guide to disable the autoplay video feature for both Android and iPhone users.
First of all, you need to log into your Facebook account from your Android device.
Once your Facebook app has been opened, tap on the three-lined button present in the upper right corner of your screen
Scroll down and then tap on the ‘App Settings’
After opening the ‘App Settings’, go to ‘Videos in News Feed Start With Sound’ and tap the toggle to disable it.
The process is really simple and easy. Let’s see how you can disable this feature on your iPhone device.
The process of disabling the autoplay video feature is almost similar to what we did for an Android device. Open your Facebook app and login into your account.
Click on the three-lined button that appears on the bottom right corner of the screen
Go to Settings and then open Account Settings. After that, click on Sounds.
In the end, go to ‘Videos in News Feed Start with Sound’ and then tap the toggle to turn it off.
Now, you don’t need to worry about the sound being played in the background of your Facebook videos. Once you disable the feature, you can watch the videos silently. You can always enable this feature again by going through the same process. All you need to do is toggle to turn it back on.
