Facebook Introduces Live Video Streaming Service for Verified Pages

The feature is only available to Facebook users for iOS at the moment.

Facebook for iOS now allow verified pages to share live videos. Celebrities, sportsmen, and other people with verified pages may use the feature to keep their fans updated with the recent happenings.

To start live video streaming, go to Facebook for iOS, select “Publish”, tap “Live Video”, and then add a brief description about the broadcast before finally going live.

The feature provides real-time information about the verified profiles and pages watching your stream, along with their comments, if any.

“People who like your Page can discover your live videos in News Feed and through notifications on Facebook. While watching a live video, people can tap the Subscribe button to get notified the next time your Page goes live”, mentioned the company’s blog post.

The company introduced “Live” feature exclusively for celebrities back in August followed by its release for the verified profiles.

The verified pages like Today Show and U2 are among to first ones to get this feature, with support coming for other pages slowly.
