Facebook Introduces Reaction Emojis

Facebook Introduces New Reaction Emojis, Still No Dislike Button

The option to react to posts in 6 different ways will make a fine addition to the platform.

Ever since Mark Zuckerberg teased an alternative to Like button for Facebook, the internet was convinced that the social networking giant is finally getting the much-demanded Dislike button. However, the cat is out of the bag now and it’s not exactly what people had expected.

Instead of giving users a dislike button, Facebook has started testing six new buttons, i.e. Love, Haha, Yay, Wow, Sad, and Angry.

These buttons make way more sense than dislike button because people don’t want to see pictures of their children getting disliked by people. Also, no one wants their graduation picture to have more dislikes than likes. It would just kill the purpose of having a Facebook account, and a lot of people would leave it.

Mark Zuckerberg is a smart person. He realizes that the dislike button would fuel cyberbullying.

The new emojis are certainly a good addition, but sadly they are only available for the users in Spain and Ireland at the moment. After the testing phase, however, these emoticons will make their way to other countries as well.
