The app will be available for download worldwide later this year.
Mozilla took a step forward by releasing the first public preview of Firefox browser for iOS users. The browser is only available for use in New Zealand at the moment, but it is expected to be released in other countries at the end of this year.
The core purpose of releasing a public preview is to receive feedback before making it public. In a blog post, the company highlighted three main features of its browser app for iOS, namely search feature, Firefox account and visual tabs.
Mozilla initially didn’t show interest in building its browser for iOS, blaming Apple for its strict policy against third-party browsers, but it seems that the company has finally realized its mistake. After all, iOS users are in huge numbers.
The company had already released a limited beta version of Firefox for iOS back in May.
