A lot of people have fallen in love with larger screens, and now prefer phablets over small screen phones. However, in the midst of so many phones available, it becomes really difficult to pick the one that really tends to all of your needs. This is why we’re here as we will be looking at two of the most popular phablets – Motorola Nexus 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
In terms of design, both brands brought their A game. With its metal design, Galaxy Note 4 looks stunning and feels good when held in hands. On the other hand, Nexus 6 is a bit larger and features a small bezel, which makes it look slightly better than its rival. Because of its smaller screen, Note 4 weighs less and can be held in one hand rather easily, whereas Nexus 6 comes with a larger screen, which makes it weigh more and thus quite difficult to casually carry around in one hand.
Nexus 6’s operating system is better than Note 4’s because it features latest version of Android, i.e. Lollipop. Samsung Note 4, on the other hand, offers TouchWiz which has improved a lot since previous iteration, but it still is not as good Nexus 6.
Both phablets come with the same processors and GPUs. The processor featured in both phones is 2.7 GHz Quad Core Krait 450 Snapdragon 805. To enhance the visuals, both phones support an Adreno 420 GPU. This GPU allows users to play high-end games on their phablets with ease. Both phablets also come with 3GB of RAM.
Galaxy Note 4 packs a 5.7-inch display that offers up to 2K resolution. This resolution, combined with pixel density of 515 ppi, makes Note 4’s display amazing. Every icon pops out and gives a good feeling to the users. Nexus 6 on the other hand comes with a 5.96-inch screen, which is huge. This is the largest screen present in phablet market right now. However, despite its larger screen, Nexus 6’s pixel density is 493 ppi. The resolution of Nexus 6 can also go up to 2K. The display on both phablets is almost at par with each other as they make everything look stellar.
Cameras have become an integral part of mobile phone industry, which is why brands are now including best possible cameras in their phones. On paper, Samsung Note 4 comes with a better camera as it incorporates 16 MP as compared to Nexus 6’s 13 MP. However, in terms of results, there isn’t much difference. Both phablets take incredible pictures, but if you are in place with fewer lights, then Galaxy Note 4 is a better option. As far as front camera is concerned, Galaxy Note 4 takes the edge here as well as it features 3.7MP camera while Nexus 6 only offers a 2MP camera.
There isn’t any difference in battery as both phablets include 3220mAh batteries. There is a slight different in their timings, but it isn’t significant enough to give edge over the other. Galaxy Note 4 comes installed with battery saving feature, which can be utilized to increase the battery timing a bit. Nexus 6’s battery drains a bit faster due to its larger screen, but it charges at a pretty fast rate as well to balance things.
Nexus 6 is available in two sizes – 32GB and 64GB, but there’s no SD card slot, so you will have to make do with the storage space that is already available in the phone. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 4 is available in just one size of 32GB, though there’s a slot for microSD card. If you require more storage space, then you should go for Note 4.
In both Galaxy Note 4 and Nexus 6, you can find almost all the connectivity options that are expected to be present in the modern day phone. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G LTE, it’s all there. Furthermore, both phones allow you to attach microUSB 2.0, which of course is a big help.
Both phablets are amazing. Most of the features found in them are the same. However, there are some key differences which you may want to take into consideration before making your decision. Going with either one of these won’t be a bad decision because both of them contain almost all the features that you expect from a modern day smartphone.
