Google aims to improve cities with Sidewalk Labs

Google Launches Sidewalk Labs to Improve Urban Life

The core purpose of this company is to improve the quality of living of people by developing the city using urban technologies.

Google has stepped forward to pay back to the society by creating a start-up named Sidewalk Labs solely for addressing cost of living, energy, transportation and other urban issues.

This urban innovation company will reach its goal of making cities a better place for everyone by not only buying technology, but also building it and investing in it. Making partnerships and taking part in fruitful acquisitions will also be a core mission of the company.

Dan Doctoroff has been given the role of CEO of this New York-based company. The former CEO of Bloomberg is thought to be the most suitable person for this job as he served as a Deputy Mayor of Economic Development and Rebuilding for the city of New York for six years, which gives him a better understanding of modern day urban challenges.

This company will reportedly bring a positive change in the lives of billions of people.

Sidewalk is not the only independent company created by Google. It started Calico, a life science company, in 2013 for increasing the life span of human beings.
