Hoverboards became quite popular when they first came around but when the news about them getting caught on fire and exploding hit the web, almost every unit in the USA was recalled. Those units were not correctly made, and it was expected that the upcoming iterations would fix that.
However, according to Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), that hasn’t happened and hoverboards catching on fire problem still persists.
The commission made people aware of this problem during a press conference today where they said “If you own a hoverboard, please stop using it immediately and check [the CPSC] website.”
These gadgets catching on fire and exploding is of course a grave problem and can do serious harm to the users. This is why CPSC’s advice should be taken into consideration if you are amongst the owners of the product.
