LG G5 is certainly one of the best Android phones to have graced the market this year. Unfortunately, it’s plagued by one really frustrating issue – the app drawer is missing. For those used to the convenience that the feature offers, it has proven to be a huge turn-off. However, there’s no need to worry because Techomag has compiled all the solutions to the issue of missing app drawer in LG G5 in one place. Go on, take a look.
Solution 1: Install LG G5 Software Update
If you have a bit of patience and would rather wait for LG to do something about your frustration instead of looking elsewhere for a solution, then there’s good news for you. According to TechRadar, an LG G5 software update is being rolled out already to return the coveted app drawer to the Android interface. The update is already live in Asia, and it’s only a matter of time before it reaches other regions as well. Just wait and then download it to get an app drawer on your LG G5.
It is pertinent to mention here that this software update is optional, and even if you’re not really interested in getting the app drawer, you may still want to give it a shot because of other improvements in the first major LG G5 update.
(Note: If you’re reading this weeks, months, or years after the post was first published, then the software update being discussed here might already have become available, and perhaps even become obsolete.)
Solution 2: Activate EasyHome
This solution lets you get the app drawer back, but at the cost of simplifying the entire Android interface. If you’re willing to make the compromise, then simply follow the given instructions:
- Open Settings
- Tap Display
- Tap Home screen
- Tap Select Home
- Tap EasyHome
Solution 3: Download LG Home 4.0
You can also get the app drawer on your LG G5 from LG’s official app store called LG SmartWorld. An app for it would have come pre-installed on your device. Just launch the app and look up “LG Home 4.0”. Once you find it, simply download and install it to enjoy the classic app drawer on LG’s flagship smartphone.
Solution 4: Install Third-Party Launcher
You can customize LG G5’s home screen and thus overcome the missing app drawer issue once and for all. To do that, simply install a third-party Android launcher on your device. You can easily find them on Google Play, though we recommend Google Now Launcher and Nova Launcher.
