How to Install Firefox Browser on Android

After treating PC users to the gratifying online experience via its customizable web browser, Mozilla has extended the satisfaction to the Android platform. All the goodies that made the browser so special in its desktop version, be it speed, smartness, security, customization options, have been ported to the mobile.   1. Head over to Firefox Browser’s download page on Google Play Store and tap the “INSTALL” button.

  1. Go through the permissions that pop up and tap “ACCEPT” to start downloading and installing the browser on your device.

  1. Look for Firefox’s icon on the homescreen/app drawer and tap it to launch the browser.

  1. Upon running the browser for the first time, you’ll be greeted by a welcome screen. You can either sign into Firefox for a personalized experience, or start browsing immediately.

  1. Firefox allows you to jump to your favorite or most visited sites through Speed Dial. Use the tabs on top of the Speed Dial interface to access history and bookmarks. To open a new tab, tap the window icon at the top-right corner of the browser’s interface.

  1. Tap the browsing window to expand it. If you want to open another browsing window/tab, tap the plus icon located at the top-right of the browser’s interface.

  1. Tap the mask icon located at the top-left corner of the browser interface to switch to private browsing. To open a private window, tap the plus icon with a small mask next to it, located at the top-right corner of the browser interface.

  1. Tap the menu button of your device while on Firefox’s main screen to bring up context menu. You can open new tabs, new private tabs, make requests for desktop site, and access tools, settings and help.

  1. Upon selecting “Tools” from the context menu, you’ll see new options appear on the screen. You can manage your downloads, download new add-ons and apps, and start a new guest session.

  1. Upon selecting “Settings” from the context menu, you will land on the Settings screen. From here, you will have access to various options and controls such as syncing tabs, bookmarks, passwords, history, as well as managing your privacy and selecting browser’s language among other things.
