How to Jailbreak iPhone with iOS 8.3/8.4

Apple’s iPhone 5 is tantalizing on so many levels, but the walled-garden offering can at times seem a bit suffocating. If you crave for a bit of freedom, then jailbreak is just the thing for you. Good news is that the latest firmware of iOS, i.e. 8.4, has been hacked, which means you can jailbreak iPhone 5, as well as iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5S, 5C, and 4S if they’re running on the latest version of the OS. Here’s a quick guide on how to perform the jailbreak process.

Before You Begin

Before we get on with the whole jailbreaking process, there is one thing that needs to be taken care of. You need to first update your firmware to iOS 8.4 using iTunes. If you have updated the firmware using Software Update, then you should back up data, restore, and update to the latest 8.4 firmware again, but now with the help of iTunes.

After you have successfully performed the aforementioned step, you can then move on to the actual jailbreak process. We have provided step by step guide so that you can jailbreak your iPhones with ease. We tried this process on iPhone 5 and it worked like a charm.

  1. Create a “New Folder” on your desktop and download the latest version of TaiG. After it has been successfully downloaded, copy the application file to the New Folder that you created.

  1. Now pick up your phone and tap on Settings. From there, open Touch ID & Passcode. If Passcode is enabled, turn it off.

  1. Go to the main menu of Settings once again, and tap on iCloud . Look for “Find My Phone” and turn it off as well.

  1. Now connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable. Launch iTunes and manually back up your data. You MUST back up your data because you can lose it all during the jailbreak process. Better safe than sorry, right?
  1. After you have successfully backed up your data, open the New Folder you created and open the downloaded TaiG Jailbreak file.

  1. The application will detect your attached iPhone and a Window will open up with two options below. One of them will read Cydia |1.1.18, and the other one would be 3K Assistant |2.3.0.

  1. Uncheck the optional download of 3K Assistant|2.3.0 and click on the Start button at the bottom.

  1. Pressing the Start button will begin the process of jailbreak.

  1. Once the process has reached 100% completion, you will be greeted with a smiley face.

  1. Your iPhone will automatically reboot, and a Cydia app will be show up on your iPhone’s menu. Congratulations! Your iPhone has been successfully jailbroken.
