iPhone 6 Review: Apple Finally Pays Heed to the Popular Demand

There’s no questioning the popularity of Apple iPhone as they have made quite a name for themselves and are being used worldwide. People are always looking forward to seeing the latest iPhone models and Apple rarely disappoints. The latest iteration in the family of iPhone has made its way to the market and it comes packing a ton of new features including bigger size, better design, better processor, new payment system and more. Let’s go in more detail in this iPhone 6 review, starting with the design.

Design

iPhone 6 comes with the dimensions of 138.1 x 67 x 6.9mm. The back of this phone consists of metal while the front is made up of glass, making the handling a whole lot easier. Furthermore, iPhone 6 has round edges that make it easier for users to slide the phone into their pocket without too much of a hassle. Finally, the unlock button has made its way to the right side due to the strong demand of the users, while the volume buttons have stayed on the left. The issue of bending did make waves on the internet, but it was certainly blown out of proportion. If you use your iPhone 6 carefully, you won’t encounter this problem.

Software

iPhone 6 comes with the iOS 8 operating system which might not look big on the surface, but if you dig in deep, you will find a bulk of new exciting features. This new OS brings interactive notifications which will allow you to respond to any message without having to open the app. Furthermore, it brings new and improved keyboard, audio messages, shortcut to ‘Recently Called’, health related app, family sharing, battery check, spotlight research, new options for Siri, new Apple pay system, Wi-Fi calling, along with some other additions.

Performance

Apple has continued its tradition of improving processors for every new iPhone with iPhone 6 as well. iPhone 6 gets a slight boost with the new A8 processor as it runs at 1.4GHz while its predecessor supported A7 processor which ran at 1.3GHz. In spite of the slight improvement in the processor, performance of iPhone 6 is better than 5S in almost every possible way. It features better graphics and better CPU as compared to 5S.

Display

Apple phones never really had too big of a screen to start with, but with iPhone 6, the company has changed that. This latest offering from Apple comes with the screen size of 4.7 inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1334×750 pixels. Icons look great and the touch is quite smooth as well. Moreover, swiping left and right has been made pretty easy for the users.

Camera

The camera of iPhone 6 is the same as 5S. It has 8-megapixel 1/3-inch sensor with a 1.5µm pixel size. Yes! These specs are almost te same as its predecessor, but there are certain differences which aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but they do enhance the overall user experience. The major addition made to the camera is called Focus Pixels. This feature helps speed up the process of focusing, netting you great image result. Admittedly, there aren’t a lot of improvements made to the camera of iPhone 6 but it is still undoubtedly one of the best cameras around.

Storage

As always, there’s no option in iPhones for micro SD card. If you want a large storage space, then you will have to pay for the more expensive version of the iPhone 6. With regard to storage space, only three models are available consisting of 16, 64 and 128 GB. Those of you looking for the 32GB storage are out of luck as Apple has not offered this option with their latest offering.

Battery

Battery is not the strongest of suits of iPhone 6 as it only packs 1810mAH of battery. This is quite low when you compare it to the competitors, as Samsung’s S5 has the battery of 2800mAH and LG contains 3000mAH battery. Despite having a lower battery, iPhone 6 manages to perform at par with its competitors. Gaming will obviously drain the battery faster, and so will internet usage, running apps, etc. So you will have to keep a fine balance between all of them if you want your iPhone 6 to last for a longer period of time.

Connectivity

Being the latest model in the family, iPhone 6 contains all the features that you require, including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Lightning and 4G, and of course, NFC.

Verdict

All in all, iPhone 6 is a great product and if you are in the market looking for a smartphone that is capable of tending to all of your needs, then this latest iteration from Apple is highly recommended.
