The new update brings the Windows 10 version of the app closer to the web and mobile versions in terms of features.
Twitter for Windows had always lagged behind its web and mobile apps due to the lack of very basic features, a weakness the social networking and micro-blogging platform is clearly looking to overcome with update 4.1.0 for Windows 10 version of the app.
Following the release of the latest update, the Twitter app for Windows 10 has caught up with its web and mobile counterparts, getting a new look and features like group messaging, multi-account support, animated GIFs, multiple photo tweets, Vine playback, along with the all-new “happening now” feature that displays trending Twitter stories in a grid. It sure is a nice inclusion, though it still requires a bit of tweaking as the stories being displayed don’t necessarily align with the interest of the user.
Twitter is looking forward to adding more features in Twitter for Windows in the coming weeks and months.
The app is available to Windows 10 users for download worldwide. Do note that the update hasn’t rolled out to Windows 10 mobile as yet.
