The CEO of world’s most popular social media platform has set the creation of the family-friendly robot as his goal for 2016.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, has revealed his plans for 2016, saying that he wants to create a “simple AI” to perform regular household tasks. He is looking to create something along the lines of Jarvis from the movie Iron Man.
That’s just his plan though and the reality could be completely different. Zuckerberg probably knows about it just as well as anybody else.
In his Facebook post, he revealed that he will research about the technologies that are available in the market and will take help from them to bring his plan to life.
He wants his AI companion to understand his voice and do simple tasks like turning the music on and off, switching lights, and changing temperature. That’s not all though as Zuckerberg also wants his robot to take care of his daughter Max.
“I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell. I’ll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max’s room that I need to check on when I’m not with her.”
Apart from doing the household tasks, he also wants his AI to help him with work, especially Virtual Reality-related work. Facebook’s Oculus Rift VR device is set to launch this year and is amongst the most anticipated gadgets. So wanting an AI’s help in its creation is completely understandable.
