New Mission Statement for Microsoft

Microsoft gets its New Mission Statement and it’s Identical to the Old One

The new mission statement is all about making some tough choices, innovating in relatively new areas and empowering every individual and organization on the planet.

Satya Nadella, CEO of the tech giant, sent a company-wide email revealing the mission statement for the coming fiscal year in order to brief its employees on what they will be striving for in the next 12 months or so.

Interestingly, this statement is quite similar to the older mission statement with both focusing on empowering the world. However, the older mission was more precise and accurate compared to the new mission, as it clearly revealed how the company would empower the world.

This mission statement is aligned with Nadella’s strategy, who has taken some bold steps to make the company more focused and nimble, which revolves around innovation and creativity. Among these decisions is offering Microsoft suite for all devices, including that of competitors, and releasing Windows 10 operating system after which no new Windows will be released. Only updates will be rolled out.

The company CEO also shared the action plan to achieve this mission. According to him, the company will focus on three major things; “reinvest productivity and business processes”, “build the intelligent cloud platform,”, and “create more personal computing”.

This is a perfect time to reveal the mission as the company is looking forward to releasing one of its most-awaited products, Windows 10, on July 29.
