Office Suite for Android tablet and phone includes Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and is now available on Google Play Store.
Five weeks after the release of Microsoft Office Preview for Android, Microsoft has officially launched its Office suite for smartphones. This app will take the place of Office Mobile app.
If you have an Android KitKat (4.4.x) or above with at least 1 GB of RAM space, then you are ready to install this app. People with Microsoft account can use Office free of cost, but you will have to get an Office 365 subscription in order to use a few extra features.
Microsoft office suite for Android allows you to perform a variety of basic functions like viewing and editing files, giving presentations with PowerPoint directly from your phone, and getting access to different documents even if they are stored in Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
According to the company blog post, Office suite will be pre-installed in almost 30 devices from original equipment manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, and LG etc., most of which will be released later this year. The company is expecting to reach out to more partners for this purpose in the near future.
