Microsoft Surface Book 2 Review

After a hugely successful Surface Book, it was inevitable that we will get a new iteration and we finally have. Microsoft Surface Book 2 is now available in the market and it’s an incredible new addition. Firstly, it is extremely powerful. It is equipped with some state of the art hardware that doesn’t compromise on performance in any way. People who mostly make use of Surface Book have to multitask on the go, and it delivers on that. It is designed to look smart and that’s exactly what it does. It is easily one of the thinnest devices around. The display is quite responsive, as it should be because a lot of people would be using it as a tablet. Only downside is the price – Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5-inch version is priced at $1500, while the 15-inch version is available at the cost of $2500. This puts them out of reach for a lot of people, but if you can afford it, then it is a treat to use as there is almost no other downside to it.

The original’s aluminum design is back once again and gives a nice look to Surface Book 2. As mentioned above, it is quite thin. When using the original, it was hard to imagine a machine that’d be thinner than that, but Microsoft has managed to achieve this feat without compromising on any of the features. Keyboard, this time around is a bit larger. The previous iteration’s keyboard was smaller and that was a problem for a lot of people. Microsoft listened to the feedback and now the keyboard provided is easier to use due its larger size.

The huge price comes into play here. It comes with amazing specs and with Intel and Nvidia’s support, you can literally do anything you want on this device. If you are a gamer who likes to play their games in full HD, then you can do that easily here. Nvidia 1060 has been a success in gaming laptops and it is no different here. With high specs to support the card, you will be able to play almost every game released to date and the ones coming out in the future with ease. As far as speed is concerned, there is nothing to worry in that department either. It supports up to 16GB of RAM, which is more than enough to keep your device up and running even under extreme conditions.

In its laptop form, Microsoft Surface Book 2 can last for almost 17 hours, while in the tablet form, it can go on for about 5 hours. Both of these results are fantastic. Most of the time, you will be making use of this device in its laptop form, so there’s nothing to worry about. With its ability to last for almost a day, you will not have to worry about running out battery anytime soon. If you are tablet user only, then that may cause some trouble as it can only last without power for 4-5 hours.
