Motorola Moto G5 Plus Review

For those of you who can’t afford the high-end smartphones, Motorola Moto G5 Plus is a blessing in disguise. It is only priced like a mid-ranged device, but everything present in it makes it better than any other mid-ranged smartphone currently available in the market. If you have been holding your purchase until now, then now is the time to invest because I seriously doubt that you will get a better mid-ranged smartphone that Moto G5 Plus. It comes with great camera, high-end processor, Moto gestures, Google Assistant, latest version of Android, full metal body, the ability to record in 4K, and so much more. So without further ado, let’s get into some details.

G5 Plus comes with an all-metal body that makes it pretty easy to hold in hand. Also, the screen is of 5.2-inch which means that it’s not as huge as other phablets and not as small as a regular smartphone either. It’s just about the right size and finesse in its design really makes it easier to handle.

Moto G5 Plus boasts Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, with Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. These specifications are supported by Adreno 506 GPU, which is pretty good. These high specs allow G5 to keep on operating flawlessly, no matter how much pressure is being put on it. I didn’t experience any slowdowns whatsoever as experience was smooth even in extreme circumstances.

G5 Plus comes with 12 megapixels camera with dual tone (flash). This allows it to focus much faster and take crispier photos. In day time or in places with good lightning, the results are impeccable. However, in darker areas, I experienced some problems as there were shades on the corners. Pictures weren’t as sharp as they should be, but they weren’t bad by any means.

Moto G5 Plus supports Android 7.0 Nougat and comes integrated with Google Assistant. Nougat of course has brought some new features and fixes and all of them can be found in Motorola’s latest iteration as well. And with Google Assistant, you can get some regular tasks done without really having to do much. It’s good to see G5 opting to include the latest version of Android along with Google Assistant because most of the mid-tier smartphones come without it. This alone gives it an edge over all other devices available in the same price range.

Motorola G5 Plus has three different iterations. One of them comes with 32GB of internal memory and 2GB of RAM, second iteration also comes with 32GB of internal memory but it includes 3GB RAM, and the third and final iteration comes with 64GB of internal storage and boasts 4GB of RAM.

3000mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery is integrated into Moto G5 Plus and works quite well with the phone. It can last up to 14 to 15 hours under extreme pressure and that’s more than enough for a working day.

Motorola Moto G5 Plus is an amazing mid-ranged smartphone and it won’t be wrong to say that it is the best device available at that price range. The design is simple yet comfortable, processor is remarkable, there aren’t any slowdowns, lasts easily for a day, and camera is near perfect. So, if you have been looking for a mid-ranged smartphone, but nothing appealed to you, then you should check Moto G5 out as it will most likely meet your demands.
