(Review) Nokia 7

Nokia 7 has made it to the market and it is awesome. It boasts some amazing features but has one or two downsides as well. For a mid-ranged smartphone, it is brilliant and delivers on almost everything that you’d expect from a device in that price-range. It’s a full HD smartphone which means that you will be getting 1080p sharp display. The screen is of 5.2-inch which is perfect. It is neither too big nor too small for the users, and fits perfectly into the pocket. Nokia 7 delivers on the performance front as well due to its amazing chipset. That’s not all as the camera integrated into this device is also phenomenal. Usually, mid-ranged smartphones have pretty mediocre cameras but that’s not the case here as HMD Global has delivered on that front. There are a couple of downsides to this phone as well, which we have outlined along with other features below.

Design

Nokia 7 is sleek, smart, light, and beautiful. As mentioned above, the size of the screen is 5.2-inch which is absolutely perfect. Not all the users are a fan of huge screens, and for them, this is a great solution. It fits perfectly into the hands and into the pockets. The best part is that it’s light so you don’t feel like you are carrying a paper weight with you, which is also a huge bonus.

Display

It boasts full HD 1080p display that’s awesome to look at. People, who like streaming, would love to spend a large chunk of their time on here because there is no need to boot up your computers, the mobile phone in full HD works just fine. No performance hiccups or any other concerns.

Performance

Nokia 7 comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, Octa-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, and Adreno 508 GPU. All of these specifications are supported by 4GB of RAM. In my experience, the device ran smoothly without much of a trouble and as discussed above, it ran smoother even when streaming on full HD.

Software

Android Nougat 7.1.1 version is integrated into the device, which means that you won’t have to update it on the very first day. It comes with all the latest feature and fixes that have been implemented thus far.

Camera

Nokia 7 boasts 16MP camera and it is absolutely fantastic. It delivers some amazing results and is feature-rich. This camera includes touch focus, geo-tagging, dual LED flash, HDR, panorama, face detection, and so much more. You are basically getting a high-end camera in this mid-ranged smartphone, so you mustn’t miss out. Secondary camera is of 5MP and is not as great as the back camera, but is brilliant for selfies. However, don’t expect too much from it.

Storage

It comes with 64GB of internal storage, which is quite a lot. However, if you feel like you are in need for more, then you can increase the space through microSD cards.

Battery

Nokia 7 is equipped with 3000mAh Li-On battery and on paper, it looks like it would get the job done easily. However, in reality, it fails. It has a hard time keeping up for even a day, and that’s just not good. The battery drains at an alarming rate especially if you are putting it under pressure. It can last you for about a day at the hardest, but don’t expect it to go much further than that. If battery is your requirement, then despite other awesome features, you should stay away from it. On the other hand, those of you who have no problem recharging their smartphones each day should definitely give Nokia 7 a shot because it is one of the best smartphones available in mid-price range.
