OnePlus 5T

[Review] OnePlus 5T

OnePlus 5T is an amazing new budget smartphone as it comes with almost every feature that one could have asked for. Some important features like QHD, memory card slot, and stereo speakers are absent, but what is present is so good that you can easily forget about the features that didn’t make it. The best part about a budget phone obviously is its price, but with that, you get an amazing camera, a headphone jack, premium quality build, fingerprint scanner, and face unlock. If you have been waiting on a decent budget phone, then we suggest that you don’t miss out OnePlus 5T.

Design

Design

The high quality design really brings this phone to life. It is the biggest screen the company has ever produced and there were some concerns that it might compromise quality, but thankfully, they have not. It looks amazing, and is easy to hold in hand despite its bigger size. The build is fantastic as well as well, it’s slim and sleek. If you want a smart looking phone that doesn’t compromise on the size, then 5T is a great option for you.

Performance

OnePlus 5T boasts Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset, Octa-core (4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo) CPU, and Adreno 540 GPU. All of this is accompanied by 6GB or 8GB of RAM depending on which version you go for. 128GB storage version comes with 8GB of RAM, while the 64GB variant comes with 6GB RAM. The performance on both variants is the same, but the extra RAM on the higher storage device does give it some edge. If you are planning on running too many games, then it is better to opt for the higher storage version. It will help in two ways – first, you won’t run out of space anytime soon. Secondly, you will have more RAM which will help the games run on better frame rates.

Camera

Camera

Primary camera is of 16MP and is great for all kinds of pictures. It can capture landscapes in panoramic mode, can take awesome photos up close, and can is sharp regardless of the time of day. Secondary camera is also of 16MP and is equally fantastic. Most of the stuff that you can do with the primary camera, can also be done with the secondary. This is what makes OnePlus 5T all so special. Usually, there is a significant difference between the two cameras, but this phone has bridged the gap.

Battery

Battery

With 3300mAh battery, One Plus 5T lasts easily for 24 hours no matter how much multitasking it has to do. The battery drains rather slow and you can easily make use of it for more than two days if you are not a hefty user. The long-lasting battery timings have been dying lately as more and more manufacturers are opting for other improvements. In the midst of all that, it is nice to see a company actually making an effort on increasing the battery life.
