Samsung Galaxy S6: A Real Treat for Those with a Sweet-Tooth

Samsung had to come up with something big with their latest phone Galaxy S6, and that is exactly what they did. After using the latest offering from Samsung, we must admit that they have really outdone themselves with this remarkable gadget, especially in the design area. Regular users of the Samsung will notice the awesome metal body of the phone straight away and will definitely appreciate the advancements made in other areas as well. Let’s take a closer look at what this impressive offering comes loaded with in this comprehensive Samsung Galaxy S6 review.

Design

The design of previous Samsung flagship phones were not as good as what the competitors were offering. Realizing this fact, Samsung went all in with Galaxy S6 and came up with a sleek metal design. The company took some serious decisions and hired new staff to deliver results that are nothing short of impressive. Those of you who have already used iPhone 6 will find a lot of similarities in design, but that in no way is a bad thing. The build of both phones is almost the same. Furthermore, both smartphones contain headphone jack and speakers at the bottom. Another similarity is the plastic on the edges which separates all four sides of the phones. The volume buttons are on the left side while the power button is on the right.

Software

Samsung Galaxy 6 comes installed with the latest Android version 5.0, also known as Lollipop. As you may already know, Lollipop comes with a large number of changes and fixes which improves the overall experience of the Android users. Few of the major changes include improvements in notification, faster wireless connectivity, enhanced battery management, and a lot more.

Performance

With everything top notch, it would have been a disaster if Samsung would have settled with a weak processor. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case as Galaxy S6 comes with a modern processor. It’s called Exynos 7420 and it includes an octa-core processor that uses ARM’s A57, A53 and Mali cores. The overall performance of Galaxy S6 is formidable and people interested in buying it would love to keep it until the next installment in the famous Galaxy series has been released.

Display

The display of Galaxy phones has always been exceptional and Galaxy S6 is no different. The 5.1-inch screen now comes with 1440×2560 pixels with a pixel density of 577, making it the best display available in the market. Watching highly optimized videos on Galaxy S6 is nothing short of a treat. Furthermore, the integration of Super AMOLED technology helps 1080p images to really standout. Only downside with the screen is that it cannot be viewed in the daylight, something that Samsung should have worked on especially when they had Super AMOLED Technology to work with.

Camera

The camera of Samsung Galaxy S6 is amazing. It comes with a special app of its own to enhance your experience. The options available in the app are not that hard to follow and once you get accustomed to them, you can get the best possible experience. However, if you don’t want to go through all the trouble, then just switch the camera to auto-mode and it will do all the tasks for you. The rear camera is 16 megapixels and it features optical image stabilization (OIS). This feature allows stability in images even when the mobile is not being held steadily. The video that you make with this camera can be of full HD i.e. 1080p, 60fps. Furthermore, it allows you to film 4K videos, which is an awesome feature. Finally, there’s a front camera which is of 5 megapixels, perfect for your selfie and video calling needs.

Storage

Samsung has ditched the option of SD card which may not sit well with a lot of its fans as it is one of the major features of Android phones. Instead, the phone just comes with internal storage now, which includes three sizes 32, 64 and 128GB.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy S6 contains 2550mAH battery which is a lot smaller than its predecessor S5’s 2800mAH battery. Due to Galaxy S6’s larger screen and higher resolution, the battery drains at a pretty fast pace and even a moderate usage throughout the day can bring it to the 20-30% by night. The battery is the weakest link in otherwise incredible phone.

Connectivity

Connectivity options of all sorts are available in the Galaxy S6 such as 3G, 4G LTE, WLAN, USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy S6 is an amazing phone with an incredible camera and top quality display. The processor and performance are also pretty good, but only thing lacking is the battery life, which would have made S6 close to a perfect phone.
