The feature is currently available on Skype for Web, Skype for Windows and Skype for Mac.
Skype no longer requires you to sign up to the service to get a warm welcome into a conversation. The platform is now open to non-users as well, with the Microsoft-owned company assigning a unique link to each conversation. The Skype for Web, Skype for Windows and Skype for Mac users can then invite anyone to join the conversation by simply sharing the link with them.
According to the official blog post, “Anyone can join the chat as a guest from their computer using Skype and enjoy one to one or group instant messaging, voice and video calls. No Skype account or app download required.”
As a part of the release, Skype is assigning unique links to the chats, which can then be shared with the guest to invite them to the conversation. To join conversations on Skype for Android, iPad and iPhone, you will need to have the Skype app installed on your device.
The company has rolled out the feature in U.S and U.K only, but it will reportedly be available worldwide within the next few weeks.
