The feature is only available to those users who are running the latest version of Skype for Windows.
According to an official announcement, the translator feature is now available to Skype for Windows users worldwide, provided the latest version of the app has been installed.
“With the continued adoption of Skype Translator, we are working on rolling out new languages and platforms—bringing the translation feature to more Skype apps and implementing an even wider selection of languages,” Skype stated in its official blog post.
The feature can be accessed by tapping the globe icon in the top-right corner of the Skype app for Windows. The feature lets people who speak different languages communicate with each other in real time.
Skype’s translation feature offers voice-to-voice translation in Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, Italian, English, French, German, and Portuguese.
The chat and VoIP service claims that the number of calls exchanged daily has increased up to 400 percent since the launch of the feature.
