Sony renames Virtual Reality Project to PlayStation VR

Sony’s Virtual Reality Project is Now Called PlayStation VR

The move appears to be a part of the strategy to increase people’s interest in the VR device.

Sony’s virtual reality project called Project Morpheus has been renamed to PlayStation VR. The name change was very much expected, but this name is just too simple.

However, it seems that simplicity was the best way to go because PlayStation is one of the strongest selling points of Sony, and the name seems just right as a large number of people will gain interest in it.

As of now, there hasn’t been any notable VR device, but with Oculus Rift landing next year, people are expecting it to really kick things off for virtual reality. PlayStation VR has a lot of potential and Sony will surely invest in it to make it successful.

As of now, not a lot of information is available on PlayStation VR, but now that it has been given a new name, you can expect to hear more about it in the near future. PlayStation Experience is scheduled to take place in December and likelihood is that we’ll get our first look at the games coming to PlayStation VR at the said event.
