It seems that Facebook and WhatsApp deal is finally going to change something.
Reports have started to come in suggesting that Facebook will integrate WhatsApp Messenger into its Facebook Messenger very soon. This wouldn’t come as a surprise as both of these messengers are quite popular, and now that Facebook owns the WhatsApp messaging platform, there’s just no point in keeping them separate.
Facebook is being used worldwide by millions of people and almost same amount of people are using its messenger. On the other hand, WhatsApp has been increasing in popularity since coming into existence and is by far one of the most popular instant messaging apps available on mobile phones.
Integrating both of them will work in favor of both Facebook and the users as they will not have to download two different apps which basically offer the same features.
Opinion on this integration is divided at the moment. Some people are demanding that both apps should stay separate as WhatsApp only deals with the phone contacts while Facebook Messenger just allows users to keep in contact with their Facebook friends. And people want it to stay that way.
Currently, there’s no official word on whether Facebook will actually integrate the app so this news should just be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement has been made. We will keep you posted when (and if) more is revealed on the subject.
