Oscars 2017 – Here’s Who Took the Academy Award Home Tonight!

Oscars 2017 happened to be an exceptional and completely chaotic this time. Hollywood’s biggest award show  just concluded at Los Angeles a few moments ago. Hosted by the famous American TV host, Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Academy Awards handed out golden statuettes to the most deserved winners.

The Mistake

The last segment ended with a lot of chaos when the prestigious Best Picture award was mistakenly announced as La La Land, when in fact Moonlight had won that category.

La La Land – Not A Waste Of A Lovely Night!

Despite not winning the Best Picture category, it was a win-win night for La La Land. Matching the all-time record set by All About Eve and Titanic, the movie has managed to get 14 nominations at the awards ceremony. Out of 14, it led the night and won six awards. Damien Chazelle bagged the award for the Best Director, becoming the youngest director to ever win the category at Oscars. Emma Stone took over the Best Actress award. Too bad, Ryan Gosling couldn’t make a win.

Moonlight Wins Big

On the other hand, Moonlight took home three awards; Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and the Best Picture.

Surprisingly, Casey Affleck won the Best Actor award for his movie, Manchester by the Sea, beating Denzel Washington (Fences) and Ryan Gosling (La La Land) in that category.
