E3 is still a long way away, but it didn’t stop Xbox Head Phil Spencer from shedding light on Microsoft’s plans regarding the event. He stated that although E3 is all about games, but after the response Xbox One Elite Controller received at last year’s event, the tech giant is planning to reveal something new this year as well.
However, this doesn’t mean that games will be ignored as Spencer assured there would be plenty of them at the event. One of the games that he mentioned by name was Halo Wars 2 as he admitted that he is pretty excited about this one because it brings something fresh to Xbox One users. Strategy games are usually ignored by console developers, so Spencer is hoping that by having a game in the vastly ignored genre, Microsoft will be able to attract more people to Xbox One.
Finally, he talked about backward compatibility (BC) and how great it has been doing so far. He said that the games once purchased should be playable for the users no matter what year it is, and Xbox One allows them to do just that. He is hoping to make BC a tradition for Microsoft’s consoles so that people will never have to sell or trade-in their favorite games.
