There has been a huge development in the gaming industry as Xbox head Phil Spencer announced that video games will soon start to support cross-network play. This means that players on Xbox will be able to play with PC, Nintendo, and even PlayStation players.
Rocket League might be the first game to support this kind of play, but nothing official has been revealed thus far. Neither Sony nor Nintendo has responded to remarks made by Spencer, but the doors certainly seem to have been opened.
If Sony or Nintendo accepts cross-network play, then it will certainly change the outlook of gaming. Previously, all players were restricted to their own gaming networks, which is why they were unable to play with or against anyone on other platforms.
As of now, there is no response from other tech giants, but we’re hoping to hear from them real soon.
