Privacy issues in USA have taken a turn for the worst. Previously, Apple refused to give US government backdoor to its devices, and now Microsoft is suing US authorities for looking at consumers’ emails and forcing the tech giant to keep it a secret.
The lawsuit was filed yesterday in Seattle’s federal court. It argues that the government is violating the U.S. Constitution by “preventing Microsoft from notifying thousands of customers about government requests for their emails and other documents.”
Microsoft further elaborates that people didn’t move from physical storage to cloud services just to get their privacy monitored by government, and such practices won’t be tolerated. The tech giant is filing the lawsuit so that people’s privacy can be kept safe from the prying eyes.
